9 MONTHS OUT! HUMP DAY ON FRIDAY- oh and Merry Christmas Maw Maw & Paw Paw
Hello Family and Friends!
Wow what a wonderful Christmas Devotional that was last night right? I loved Elder Nelson's quote "Christmas time is family time and family time is sacred time" How true is that? I am so grateful for loving family and friends even though we are far away we are close in spirit.
Well this past week has been a good one! Sister Winslow woke up Tuesday with some sort of Flu. Yay. haha I am trying to figure out what Heavenly Father is trying to teach me with all my sick companions. Maybe to work hard with what I can control? Maybe. Well so Tuesday we didn't do much. She was in bed all day and I did some paperwork stuff. Then we had a dinner with a member and a lesson with a Less Active family, the Scesar. They are progressing slowly but surely. We are still trying to figure out how best to help them.
Wednesday we had District Meeting with our new district. It is a fun one! We did a lot of Role Playing. Good thing I like acting so much haha That day we went knocking and met a man named Richard who was telling us that he listens to a preacher on TV. And this preacher was talking about how in the Bible when it is talking about Adam and Eve it says that Eve "ate" the apple. Which can also be translated to "lied with" So just like in Days of our Lives a woman has twins and they have different fathers. So Eve had twins, Cain from Satan and Abel from Adam. We were both like What?????? haha Whenever you mix Days of our Lives and the Bible it does not go well. We thought it was pretty funny. That poor man is so confused.
Thursday we had a lesson with a potential name Diane. She is Catholic and has a large family of five kids. We taught her the restoration and she liked it. It made sense to her. We will be meeting with her again next week. Keep her in your prayers please! One thing that was cool in our lesson was we were talking about God's timing and how it is perfect. She was telling us how she forgot about our meeting and that she usually spends a few hours at McDonalds in the morning with her laptop and plugged into her head phones, but she totally forgot her headphones so she came home, and so she said I am going to think a lot about how you girls are here and how that all happened. Which is awesome!
That night we had a Relief Society jewelry Party! It was so much fun! we had a lot of non members there to talk to. It was great! And we made some awesome jewelry and had lots of great chatter!
Friday we did some weekly planning and Sister Winslow was still feeling pretty sick so we were in for a lot of the day, then we went over to a member's house and helped with their Christmas decorations and shared a Christmas message with them.
Saturday we had a lesson with a less active family. The Hith Family. They are so sweet. They have a little 7 year old who will be 8 in July and can't wait to get baptized. Hopefully her mom will help her get there and come to church.
On our way back from that lesson we were on our bikes and heard a firetruck come and we looked forward and It was like a parade! They had Santa and Mrs. Clause on top of the Fire truck and then on some Fire fighter cars there were fire fighters with reindeer antlers. It was awesome! So jokes on us Santa doesn't ride in a sleigh he rides a fire truck! It was pretty funny, then we ran to Sis. Phillip's to help her with a wreath she was doing for the church.
Then we had our Ward Christmas party! It was so much fun! Our ward did an awesome job at inviting their non- member neighbors and friends! I would encourage you all to do the same! :) half way through the party Sis. Winslow took a bite of a brownie with peanut butter in it and she is allergic to peanuts. So we had to run home and get her some Benedryl. Never a dull moment with this chick. haha She keeps me hoppin'! I love her so very much!
Sunday we had meetings all day and had dinner with a member. Then the devotional! It was a great Sunday! I also found out I am going to be singing "What child is this" at the Christmas Sacrament meeting on the 22nd. So I am pretty excited!
Well I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week full of Christmas cheer, the spirit of Chirst, and service to others
Love, Sister Forsey
