Hello Family and Friends!
Happy Late Labor Day! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Last Monday we had District Pday. We all went to a park and had a picnic. A member donated some money so the elders got a bunch of $1 burgers from McDonalds and then we had watermelon and cookies. We had a water balloon toss and played capture the flag with water balloons. It was a fun day!
Later that evening, we saw a Less Active Family, The Smiths. I think they have a lot going on and haven't really made church a priority. But as missionaries we just need to help them see that it is so helpful! And they will receive blessings for it!
Tuesday we saw another Less Active, Sister Tyler. Her husband is a pilot and is gone a lot. I think they just stopped doing the day to day things that really help to build our testimony and feel the spirit. (lesson for us all!) Hopefully we can get them back to church and to the temple! :D That night we had dinner with Jin. The Busch's came with us so we could go inside. It was a very nice dinner. This was the referral from last weeks letter, that we mowed his lawn for him. He was a lot more open to the Book of Mormon. We are a little worried that he may not be prepared just yet. But we will continue to pray for him!
Wednesday we went and picked up the Longwood sisters in the car and on the way to District meeting, I saw a stop sign a little too late, kind of stopped, and kept going. Well, just my luck a police car came out of no where and pulled me over. I was praying so hard for the Lord to soften his heart and just let me off with a warning. The Lord Heard my prayers! He came back and just said, "Be more careful next time" Dodged that bullet! I am sooooooo grateful.
Then we went to District Meeting and it was so good. One of the elders that is in our district, it was his last District Meeting, so all the sisters sang his favorite hymn, "I know that my Redeemer lives" . The spirit was super strong. It was a such a good meeting. Then we went to the dermatologist for Sister Ransom. Afterward we talked with the Willis', they are going through a rough time and just needed some spiritual uplifting, and boy did they get it! I could tell they felt more at peace.
We then had a lesson with Angelique for her baptism interview. We just reviewed the questions and some of the lessons. She and her family where such a tender mercy from the Lord. We are so very blessed!
Thursday we went down to Orlando for Sister Ransom to talk with President Berry about some things. So I got to hang out in the mission office with all the Senior couples. It was so much fun! They have too much fun down there, but I was grateful for the opportunity to partake of some of that fun! ;D Why is it that I just love those older folks? ha ha I also got to talk with President Berry about some things. It was nice, I am so grateful for him and his direction.
Later that afternoon, we had a lesson with a less active who is 70 years, old but looks like he's 55. Youngevity anyone? ha ha He was very nice, we took another sister with us. I think he has some real potential to come back. We just have to rekindle the fire within and fan the flames a little bit, maybe even throw some gasoline on. ha ha! Then we had Angelique's baptismal interview! She passed with flying colors! Woo Hoo!
Friday we went back down to Orlando for Sister Ransom. Again, I just hung out in the Mission Office. I got a package! woo hoooo!! Thank you mom!!! Sooooooo much! It helped a ton! That night we had dinner with the Ward mission Leader and did some knocking...gotta love those cold calls!
Saturday we went to the church to clean out the font. The building just went through some major construction. So there was a lot of powder and dust. So we cleaned that out, ran home to get cleaned up, ran back to the church for coordination meeting and then we had the Baptism! It was so amazing! We had a great turnout from the ward and the spirit was so strong! I am so very grateful to be a part of the truth and to have the opportunity to share that truth.
Later that night we had a lesson with the ward missionaries from Preach My Gospel chapter 6. It's on Christlike attributes. It's very good! Read it HEREI would recommend that to everyone! Then we had an insane storm! Lightning every second, we even saw a flash and the thunder at the same time. SCARY! We decided to not drive too far and just go to see a member. The Gove family were the lucky winners! We talked with them and shared a message. They gave us some flashlights just in case our power was out when we got home. We said our goodbyes and ran out to the car.
I opened the door and saw something hop in. I turned on the flashlight and a frog and jumped into the car! Sister Ransom reached for it and it hopped up onto the dashboard. Then she reached for it again and it jumped on her! It was so funny I was laughing pretty hard! We finally got it out and were on our way home.
Sunday we had the usual meetings. We had dinner at the Stake President's home. It was a nice evening. We also went knocking and met some less actives.
Yesterday for Pday we went shopping, got some Jeremiah's with the Longwood sisters, wrote some letters, I took a nap Halleluiah! Then we went to the Moghimi's for dinner. Sister Moghimi just had a baby and a ton of people brought a ton of food over, so they invited Bishop Haring and their family over to help them eat it. Sister Haring had signed up for dinner for us, so they had to expect the packaged deal. It was a fun night! I absolutely LOVE the Moghimi's! Sister Moghimi LOVES Barbara Streisand just like me! So we chatted for a bit about the babs. Yep uh huh! Brother Moghimi told us all about his mission. He served in Kentucky and was the highest baptizing missionary in his mission. I think he baptized like 80 people. Wow. He shared some much needed insight.
Well that was my week. I love all of you and am so grateful for all your continuing support. I am so very blessed to be a part of such an amazing family! I love you and thank you again!
