Hello Family and Friends!
So this past Monday we went with the Valencia Sisters and Longwood sisters to Steak and Shake for one of the Sister's Birthday! It was a lot of fun. That night we went on exchanges with the Sister Trainer Leaders! Sis. Schmidt came up to Lake Mary with me!
Tuesday we had a full day, planned and I had a strong impression that we should really go and see a member. So we went to see Sis. Howell. We walked in and she had all this stuff she was doing for the Young Women in Excellence happening that night. (She's the Young Women President) So we just sat right down and helped her pull some stuff together. It was so much fun. She and sister Schmidt cooked while I did some crafting stuff on frames. We were just listening to Christmas music and chatting with her about her missionary efforts. It was fun, she only got 3 hours of sleep the night before, so we were so glad we could help her get everything done. Her counselors were sick, so that didn't help.
After helping Sis. Howell we had told Sis. Haring (the Bishop's wife) that we could stop by and do some service for her later that day. So we went straight from Sis. Howell's to Sis. Harings! Of course we did some contacting on the way. At Sis. Haring's we cleaned up the play room and took out their Christmas Tree and fluffed it for them. Bishop Haring has been so busy with tithing settlement, work, and they just had their baby so it has been a bit crazy at their home. They were very grateful for our help. Oh and we found a book that was entitled "Yes, Virginia There is a Santa Clause" Sister Schmidt and I thought that it was hilarious, so of course we took a picture with it haha so by that time it was like 4 and we hadn't even eaten lunch. Funny how when you are captured into doing service, you don't even think about the normal things in life.
So we went and got some food then went out and tried to visit some less actives. It was a fun day. When we met up to exchange back the other sisters walked in and Sister Winslow looked ghost white. Apparently she had thrown up at a members home at dinner and then on the way home. Goodness this girl... we just can't get her healthy. A little worried about her. So we stayed in on Wednesday. I did some mapping and made some calls and studied, and of course took care of my sweet companion. Then we went to the Moghimi's for Dinner. We were talking to them about Christmas and how they are putting Christ more in Christmas with their kids. They said they are going to give their kids 5 things. Something they Want, Something they Need, Something to Wear, Something to read, Something to Give. (like money to give to a charity or something like that and the kids get to pick what charity and learn all about it)
I loved the idea! I think it is awesome There is a wonderful Mormon Message on mormonchannel.org called "The Reason Behind Christmas" (click on the title to view) It is so good. Check it out! Thursday we had Zone Training Meeting which was great. Then we went to a lesson with Bro. Stude and the Casablanca Sir.'s, it went so good! they really hit it off. It's hard as missionaries because you know you need to get some fellowship for these returning members because you won't be there forever so with the wards help it is easier. The Casablanca's are awesome!
When we got home we got the mail- I got my Christmas package!!! I LOVED IT!! oh my gosh the Sister Teddy bear is the best!! I just took that out and put everything else back in the box still wrapped and taped up the box haha. I can't get too excited! But Thank you Thank you!
And Aunt Kris also sent me a package that day! I am so blessed! In it was a Charlie Brown Christmas tree that we put up. We LOVE it! I'll send pictures. Thank you Thank you to the Browers!
Friday Sister Busath and the Bevans came by to get some furniture. I love the Busath's and Bevan's!! It was a party for a whole 10 min. haha Then they had to be on their way but it was so much fun!
I got a message from mom that Grandpa Traylor had gven her some money to put into my account for Christmas! Grandpa Traylor THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the Christmas Money!! It made my day! and my month! and my Christmas! I can't wait to find something to spend it on! haha I will use it well I promise! I love you!!
So later that day we decided to stop by and see our Gator, Laura. As we were biking I had the thought "Don't go see Laura" and I was like well we really need to see her and then it came again. I couldn't tell if it was the spirit or just my own thoughts. So we were still biking and we passed a road that we would turn on to see some potentials that we had and then it came again, but this time it was quiet and soft but it pierced my mind. So I stopped and turned to Sis. Winslow and said, we shouldn't go see Laura and she said "I've been thinking a lot about Gim, one of our potentials. So we turned around and went down that rode and he was just sitting outside. And he said to us as we pulled up, "Hey this is funny, cause this is my praying spot" we sat down and started to talk to him then his wife pulled up and we got to teach both of them the Restoration. It was awesome! We just testified and were super bold with them. It was so cool I love following the spirit!
So then we went to a dinner appointment and ran home for something and lo and behold, I GOT ANOTHER CHRISTMAS PACAGEI cookies from Aunt Kris! As you will see in the picture I didn't even take my helmet off I just dug right in and heated up Sis. Winslow and me a cookie! haha THANK YOU AUNT KRIS! THANK YOU!!
Saturday we went knocking and saw some members. At one of the member's houses I got kissed! haha Their grandson who is autistic came up to me and kissed me on the cheek. He was very sweet. On the way home Sis. Winslow squished her foot between the concrete and her bike pedal and thought she broke her toe. I told her I am about to put her in a bubble and just push her everywhere. ha ha We had coordination and I practiced my song with Sister Busch who is so kindly playing for me. It is a really pretty arrangement. I am excited to sing in church, especially for Christmas!
Sunday we had a great block of meetings and after church Sis. Casablanca took us to instacare to make sure sis. Winslow didn't break anything. She didn't, just bruised it pretty bad. Thank goodness. Last night we had a stake thing where the Stake choir sang selections from "The Messiah" It was so great! It made me miss choir! I am so grateful for music! I hope you all have a wonderful week full of time with loved ones!
