Hey everyone!!
Well my time here at the MTC is coming to an end :( I have really enjoyed it here, and am just realizing that now I have to go out and actually teach people! ahhhh :/ I am excited though to get out and work. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! to everyone for all the love! I am sorry if I havn't written you back yet, I didn't realize how little time we have to take care of stuff like that. Hopefully while out in the field I can manage my times better. I am learning so please forgive me! But I LOVE all the letters. Dear. Elder is AMAZING!! Mom I LOVE to hear about your days it makes my days here better! I read them over and over before I go to bed as a little comfort :)
ok, so this week has gone by so fast! I blinked and now it's gone! Saturday's and Sunday's are the best! Last Sunday we got to listen to Music and the Spoken Word before Relief Society and I can just tell you this, Heavenly Father Answers Prayers!! It may not be in the way you want or expect but he does! I am blown away by how many experiences of that I have had while here at the MTC. We had Sister Stevensen from the General Primary Presidency speak to us during Relief Society. Then we had Sacrament meeting and lots of study time in between. We also heard from Brother Swensen from Missionary Services? He gave an awesome talk! We then went to see a message from Elder Bednar from him speaking to the MTC a few years back. His talk was on the Character of Christ, it was amazing!
Monday through Friday were more of the same just class, study, eat, repeat.
A couple of amazing experiences this week have been with our two "Investigators". We met our new investigator Gabby, her husband has been a lifelong member and she is a catholic but goes to church with him to support him. Our first meeting didn't go very well. She is so nice and so fun, but i felt like we wouldn't get anywhere. So we gave her a Book of Mormon and asked her to read it, she said she would think about it. Her family is super catholic and would be so disappointed if they knew she was interested in the Mormon church and that even thinking about that made her sick and would give her ulcers to think of her family being disappointed in her.
I left that meeting feeling so discouraged. I prayed to Heavenly Father to open her heart and to open her mind. Our next meeting we read the Book of Mormon with her. She said she had just gotten rear ended and left her BOM in her car (she was driving a replacement). So she didn't have it, but she was curious so she downloaded the Gospel Library onto her Tablet and looked through it. We answered her questions about that and then read with her, she was willing! Then I said, "Gabby I remember last time we met, you asked why bad things happen to good people. I may have an answer to that." I then had her turn to Ether 12:6 and it's all about trials of our faith and I told her God is testing us to see if we turn to him in faith. Her eyes teared up and I said, "how does that make you feel?" she said, "horrible!" I said, "why?? tell us, we're here to help." :) She said, "maybe if i turned to God earlier some of those things wouldn't of happen to me." We then said, "it's not too late! Gabby will you Read the Book of Mormon and Pray to know the truth of it?" She looked us straight in the eyes and with a smile said, "Yes!" As soon as we were done, we ran out of there Bursting with joy!!! The sad part about it is that we won't see her again. :'( But I hope that if she really was an investigator, that her faith will grow and become a member :D
Another one was with Sonia, our other investigator. We shared with her the Plan of Salvation and really got through to her. Our teacher gave us feedback and just said we did awesome!
OK I am running out of time! Our In field orientation was yesterday and it was awesome!
Mom, answers to your questions: It wasn't that weird having Brother Palmer as a teacher, haha he's a good one. Sister Payne LOVES her lanyard! good idea! The skirts are awesome, they all work. My work out clothes and shoes are great. Sister Payne is from Pocatello, Idaho. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the packages! you and me and connected! like everything you sent me is what I needed at that moment! I just love you! Most of our district is going to Florida, but there are two elders going to Boise Idaho.
