Hello family and friends!
This week has been full of miracles!
Last Monday was my last FHE at College Park. It was a blast! We had a Nerf war. It was hard to say
goodbye to all the many friends I made there but I was excited to start on a new journey. It was a miracle because I was able to get my stuff down to only three bags.
Haha Tuesday morning I went with the STL's to Transfers. Sister Stratman and Sister Rogers were sad they
couldn't come. It was so sad to say goodbye to them! We were the three amigas!!
At transfers I got sister Busath, one of the senior missionaries, to give me a hint on where I was going. So it was less
nerve-racking than other Transfer meetings. I got sent to Cocoa with sister Damato! She is from California and has two sisters and has been out on her mission for about 13 months. She is awesome!
Cocoa is right next to the Kennedy space Center. Also, a flying school. Matt would be in heaven here!!
The first night here we had a relief society activity. It was all about simplifying the sisters lives. The sisters
here are very nice and excited to get to know me. It's weird being back in a family ward again. But I am excited to get to know new people and a new area!
Wednesday was district meeting and I have the same district leader as I had in the MTC, Elder Oaks, no not THAT
Elder Oaks but he is related to him! Haha
Wednesday night we had dinner at the bishops house. Bishop Hawthorne and sister Hawthorne are very sweet and kind.
This area is a Car Share area so I'm back to biking every other week and man have I gotten out of shape! Ha ha
That's what I get for being in full car areas for eight months.
Wednesday night after dinner we went out with the bishops wife to go and visit some less active families. She had mentioned a family she used to visit teach so we went and tried them and the sisters before us tried to get in contact with them for a long time with no luck. We walked up to the door and they walked out of the door. It was a
miracle we were able to talk with them and get to know them and the less active we went to she had a brother over who is also less active. He said he wants to come back to church! It was so cool!
Thursday we went and did service for the YMCA. We helped lay some mulch and sweated buckets. They were very appreciative of our service.
After that we went to the church to get cleaned up and changed and ready for our lesson with a former investigator named K. K is in the Air Force and is an Astro- Dynamicist? I think that's how you spellit. She is very smart and even owns her own plane! Well, Co-owns it with another guy.
She has had a very rough past and is struggling with many health issues at this time. She doesn't have much family only a brother in Pensacola so she is going through all these health issues Alone. When she was at basic training in the Air Force she met a Mormon. You are never supposed to be alone in the Air Force so she saw a guy standing by himself so she ran over to be his buddy so he wouldn't get in trouble. It was on a Sunday and everyone was splitting up to go to church
somewhere. Two more guys came behind them and they started marching off. She had no idea where they were going. And they ended up going to the LDS Church. She obtained a copy of the Book of Mormon, pearl of great price, the doctrine of covenants, and a hymnal from this member. She has read all of them and loves them. She says that when she is
having a hard day she opens the Scriptures and finds peace. Like I said before she is very smart and so she struggles with the balance of science and religion. Also because of the many hard things she has gone through in her life and is going through at this time she has a hard time believing that God is a loving Father in heaven. We talked with her and testified to her that God did love her and was aware of her. We also committed her to Pray and to ask of God is there. She agreed to meet with us on Saturday and also to feed us! She also mentioned that her colonel who she works with is a member of the
church and had invited her over for dinner on Sunday. His name is brother Leach and they also signed up to feed us on Sunday. Inspired!
Thursday night we also met with our other investigator R. She is married to a less active member and is also very sweet. Her friends were over and they invited us to stay for dinner and over dinner we were able to teach them about the restoration of the Gospel. It was pretty cool. We also saw her Friday night as well and talked to her about the sacrament and the importance of it.
Saturday night we had dinner at K's. She has traveled many places in the world and made us food from Bangladesh. We taught K about the plan of salvation. We were able to address some more of her concerns and fears and testify to
her. We believe she has been doctrinally converted we're just helping her to become spiritually converted. We invited her to come to a fireside we had last night with an area 70 named Elder Hamula for Recent Converts and investigators. She agreed to come.
Sunday we had church and I met most of the members of the ward it was great. After church we went to the leach's home for Dinner and got to spend some more time with K. The Leach family is awesome they are so much fun! After dinner we went to the fireside in Lake Mary and it was so good!
Pres. Berry spoke and they also had two recent converts to the church share their testimonies and stories. One woman told about her amazing journey into the church and wow it was a powerful testimony. She too had a lot of struggles and trials and hardships in this life and she was able to overcome all of it and find the peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Elder Humula also talked about his conversion story to the church and of Joseph Smith's experience. Because of K's Health issues she usually goes to bed really early so It was a sacrifice for her to come and to stay up late. She looked exhausted
but she was happy she came. We were too!!!
So onto another week in the life of sister Forsey. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Love, Sister Forsey
