Habitat for Humanity and TORNADO WARNINGS!
Hello everyone!
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA 4C!! I hear you are up and going alot these days. Hey maybe you'll be able to outrun me by the time I get home. Keep it up!! I love you!!
HALLI SUE PIE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! There is a surprise coming in the mail for you! :D
Well this past week was a roller coaster full of ups and downs haha. We did some service this week for a sister in the ward who is overwhelmed with some stuff. She is just the sweetest and it was fun serving her. We also were able to teach some people on the spot which was cool. They weren't very interested past that first visit though haha
Wednesday night we were able to go and see F again in the hospital. The Elder's investigator, D, it is his sister that we go visit. She is so sweet. We went and sang some songs to her. She just smiled the whole time and said, "When you first came in my legs where really bothering me but now they aren't that bad at all" The spirit and some songs can truly bless all around.
We have been really focusing this week on trying new ways to find people to teach. We are trying to get more involved with the community and those around us.
On Thursday we went and did some service with Habitat for Humanity. It was really fun. I got to talk with this other volunteer who was there. He is Baptist and was so sweet! His name is Burt and he is retired and just loves to serve. which was awesome! He just helps out whereever he can and loves doing stuff with Habitat for Humanity. We painted a home and did some cleaning for a veteran who just had a baby boy. We were hoping she would stop by but she didn't. Oh well, hopefully she will be able to feel all of the love and hard work that went into her home.
Saturday we woke up to a rainy day. Sister Williams woke up super sick with some sort of flu. So I just hung out and did some studying. I finished the book Our Heritage which is so good! I love learning about church History! Then we got a call from our Bishop's wife. She said I just had the feeling I needed to call and tell you guys that there is a Tornado Warning until 5 PM tonight. Well that FREAKED ME OUT!!! haha I was like Are you serious???? Well there was a lot of lightning and thunder and it was pretty freaky. We didn't go out. We just went out for the broadcast. Which was SOOOO GOOOD!!!!
Oh my goodness I really loved all the talks especially President Eyring's. I loved what he said about how we should treat every person we meet as a child of God. Also, that Heavenly Father is pleased when we make right choices that lead us to make covenants and he is even more pleased when we help others make choices that lead them to make covenants. Wow. I felt the spirit so strong during the entire meeting. What truly inspired words. I cannot wait until Conference this week!!
Sunday we were able to meet with H again and his wife R. They are both so sweet. We talked about Temples and Families and how they can be together forever. They had a daughter pass away a few years back so I think the words rang true. We shared with H (R left the room to get a phone call) the story in the Mormon message "Wrong Roads", the spirit was so strong. He loved the explanation especially since he was asking questions about why God lets us go down certain paths if he knows those paths lead to heartahce. We testified of how we grow stronger through our trials and that through Christ's Atonement all can be made right. It was a good end to the week!
Well I hope you all enjoy Conference and listen to the inspiring words of the Apostles and Prophets. Love you all!
Love, Sister Forsey
