IF I WERE A RICH MA...I MEAN WOMAN
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
I hope you all are keeping in mind all the many things the Lord has blessed you with and make a goal to be more thankful throughout the year, I know I have!
Well this week was full of Cleaning and Service and looking to bring God's children back into the fold. We did Some service for a sister that is having her knee replaced. So we went over and helped her get her house ready and changed the sheets on beds and such.
This week we saw Brother Stude and he is doing well. He left to go to see his kids this week. Hopefully he won't forget to have his personal prayers and scripture study. We saw a referral from a member this week named Betty. She was so sweet and invited us right in. We shared a scripture with her and said a prayer. The spirit was so strong. She wasn't interested beyond that but she did say she needed help with some stuff. So hopefully she will call and we will be able to go back and do some service for her.
Thursday we had inspections. We cleaned and cleaned and the Gordons showed up an hour early! Gah! But we passed. Haha I guess ours was leaps and bounds above where other apartments were at. And hey we hadn't even finished cleaning. Little bit every day makes a difference!
Friday morning we got a call with a referral. A member's neighbor's house burnt down the night before and the family needed some assistance. So we went over and talked with Leah, the mom of the family. We found out what they needed and contacted the Relief Society President. Leah has had a good experience with missionaries in the past so we are hoping we will be able to help her and teach her!
Saturday was a day full of knocking on doors and contacting people. It was a long and good. day. Sunday was as always full of meetings and we did some more searching for lost sheep. The Lord is definitely testing our patience. I am definitely learning to trust in him and his timing. I know that as long as I am doing my best and doing all I can, the blessings will come. It makes me think of a Mormon message we like to show a lot. It's called in the Spirit of Thanksgiving. And in it Elder Oaks talks about The Fiddler on the Roof and how Tevia sings "If I were a rich man"! haha He then goes on to sing, "Lord who made the lion and the lamb you decreed I should be what I am, would it spoil some vast eternal plan if i were a rich man?" Then Elder Oaks says, "Yes Tevia, It might."
Perhaps this transfer my prayer has been "Lord who made the lion and the lamb you decreed I should be what I am, would it spoil some vast eternal plan if I were to find some investigators right now? And get to see them baptized?" Well yes, sister Forsey, it might. haha I know that Heavenly Father's timing is perfect. I know he knows each and every one of us perfectly. He sees the big picture and if we put our trust in him and do our best, it will all work out.
I am so Grateful for all of you. Thank you all so much for your continued Love and Support. I am so blessed with so many friends and family who Love me and want to see me succeed. I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life and for the knowledge that I have that the atonement is real and that it carries us through every struggle and trial.. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ Died for me. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of Love and Fun!!
Love, Sister Forsey
