MIRACLES THIS WEEK!
Hello all!
Happy New Year! This past week has been filled with service and of course busyness with doing the Lord's work!
Some miracles we saw this week we were:
We received 4 referrals from Sis. Phillip's she is awesome! She just throws parties and invites us over or just has us over for dinner and always has a non-member there. It is so awesome! We did some service for a few ladies who live in her housing development. We are not allowed to proselyte there so it's awesome that sis. Phillip's helps us meet people in there.
We had an awesome lesson with a Part member- Less active family. They are the Sharri family. We taught the restoration and the spirit was so strong. I love it when you can just feel the spirit so much you just feel as though you are going to burst! The dad who is the non-member really opened up to us and asked us a lot of questions. Which was cool He was wondering about a few things that differentiate our church from the Catholic church. We invited them to read and pray about the Book of Mormon as a family. We hope we can meet with them again.
We had a lesson with Sis. Laurence this week who is going through a rough time. She lost her sister recently. We went to teach the family but her girls were at Grandma's house so we just had to teach her. I felt really impressed to share the video "mountains to climb" But I knew that it was still so new and fresh and she really didn't want to talk about it. So I went with the spirit and decided hey, she can't be too upset with us we are doing it out of love. So we shared the video. I think it really hit home for her. It's a great video to know that we all have trials in life and if we have our faith embedded in our hearts we can endure.
On Friday we went and saw a potential named Anni. She is hispanic and speaks English but not very well. When she answered the Door she said, You never came! I was waiting for you the sunday after we first met. Apparently some line of communication got mixed up and she thought we had set up an appointment. We had no idea. So the miracle was that she was willing to try again and set up another appointment. So yesterday we went and taught her and her husband and it was awesome! We brought Sis. Ingalls with us who speaks Spanish. It was so nice having her there. She just cleared up anything that Anni couldn't understand in English. She was also so bold with her, it was awesome! I think they will get baptized!
Yesterday we also had a lesson with a guy named Tracy. We knocked on his Cousin's door and he answered. We said a Prayer with him and his cousin Balboa and left. Then we came out and we were sitting on a bench taking a five min. Break So he comes and sits by us and starts talking to us. We start asking him about Church and his relationship with God. We taught him about the Book of Mormon and the Spirit and how if you read and pray to know if it's true. You know through the Spirit. He told us that when he was in the house and there was a knock at the door his cousin didn't want to open it. But he felt he should so he did. Then he said that after the prayer they felt "really good vibes" We told him that is what the spirit feels like. It's goodness, it's happiness but a different happiness, it's warm, and loving. It was awesome! The cool thing was is that we had a lesson with our investigator and she cancelled on us so we went knocking and were able to meet Tracy.
The Lord is so aware of all of his children. His timing and plan are perfect! I know that if we listen to the whisperings of the spirit and act upon those impressions we will be able to be His hands upon the earth and that we will be able to feel more fully of his spirit in our lives. I am so grateful for this week and a new year to start! 2014 is going to be amazing! I hope you all have a wonderful week! Love and miss you all!
