Hello Family and Friends!
So last Monday we went and saw our investigator, J. He is so sweet. We taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When we walked up he was drinking and smoking again but he was more with it and we could see his true desire to change. We committed him to be baptized on June 28th and he accepted so cool!
Then we went tracting and met this really nice guy named V. He said he had met with Elders before and has read the Book of Mormon. We taught him the Message of the Restoration and he just wasn't sure about it. I asked him if he had prayed about the Book of Mormon and he said he hadn't. So I testified that the way we find out if it is true is to go to the source of all truth, God. He said that he would pray about it. The spirit was so strong! It was a good experience.
Then we saw a less active on the same street and he just did not understand the promises he made at baptism. It was ridiculous. He was very nice but I was just like Dude! Do you even know what you promised to do when you were baptized???? So sad. Of course I didn't actually say that to him but I wish I could have haha!
Tuesday we met a really nice girl named M. We went back and taught her on Wednesday. We shared the restoration with her and as I stated Joseph Smith's first vision she said," Oh man, that gave me the chills!" So we told her that was the spirit and it is here to testify of truth. She committed to be baptized on June 14th. Miracles are happening!
Friday during weekly Planning we got a Call from Pres. Berry and he asked if Sister Ackley would be a trainer. Of course she said yes and so I figured I would get the Boot and sure enough Saturday night the ZL's called and told me I was leaving. Bummer. But that just means I get to meet new people and get to know a new area in Florida! Woo hoo!
We had Dinner at the Dewberry's that night and it was so much fun! I will surely miss the Dewberry's!
Sunday we had a special stake conference with Pres. Rasband from the presidency of the Seventy! It was a really good conference. He spoke all about Family and how the most important of the Lords work that we will do will be within the walls of our own homes.
That night we had a dinner with the F's they are so much fun! We shared a message about things that matter most, and I think it was just what they needed to hear. As a missionary I talk to so many members who are struggling spiritually and they have forgotten to do those most important things, like Scripture Study and prayer every day. We really do NEED those things just like our bodies need food. I definitely have grown my testimony on daily prayer and scripture study.
Well tomorrow I will be transferred to another area. I hope you all have a great week!
Love you!
Sis. Jennifer Forsey
