Hello Everyone!
This past week was a doosey. Sister Geilman and I were sick for a lot of it, but that didn't stop the work from progressing! We had a miracle filled week!
Monday after emailing we went with our district to 4 Rivers Smokehouse. It is really good BBQ. But I am on a budget! ;) Thanks to Michoney (thanks Shonee for the budgeting tips- you should teach a class!)! So I was looking at what I could get...maybe like a sprite or something haha. Well we were all standing there looking at the menu. The sisters were all together and the Elders were more ahead of us in line. One of the Elders were talking to a man and said that we are all missionaries. The man then says, "Order whatever you would like, it's on me" :0 I was shocked! This kind man wasn't even a member of the church! So he bought all of us lunch! It made our day! I am so grateful for kind people who listen to the spirit! Wow! A budget miracle!!!!
Tuesday we visited a Less Active and shared a message about the Atonement. It was a great lesson, afterward when we were walking out the door and she said that "she isn't looking for any lessons right now"... It made us so sad :( But it did make me think of why people go less active and what makes them stop doing the things they KNOW they should be doing. Because Christ suffered all things when He performed the Atonement, he can fix all things. So if we have faith in the Atonement and in Christ as our foundation (Hel. 5:12) Then we cannot fall. It just makes me think of everyone who has left the church...what was their faith in? What was their testimony of? What is your testimony of? Think about it. I know the Atonement is real. I know that Christ can heal any wound, if we let him. He can lift us even when we feel we have hit the bottom. I am so grateful for my loving Savior, Jesus Christ and for Him loving me enough to suffer all things. He truly is the ultimate example.
Wednesday we were really sick, but we persevered and we did go see some members and did some service for them. If we love them, then they will love us back and feel comfortable introducing us to their friends! Hey that's how it works folks!
Thursday we had a lesson with a new investigator, Lisa. She has some pretty intense questions, so we are excited to see how she likes the Book of Mormon. We also had an awesome lesson with a Less Active, Brother Stude. We talked about the importance of CPR (Church, Pray, Read). Medically it is life saving, it is also Spiritually saving. We invited him to church and he said if he said no on the phone come Sunday morning, then we have his permission to make him feel really guilty. It was awesome! He is a funny one.
Friday we did some service and met with a member's Mother. She is so much fun! She reminded me a lot of you mom! Bro. Tremel is the member and he is going to ask her to take the discussions.
Saturday we had a Ward Adult Dinner party. It was so great! A lot of members brought family and friends who are not members. It was awesome! They had dancing and music. Sis. Geilman really wanted to dance with everyone, but I didn't think it was a good idea. It is so weird because you all know me, I would of busted a move the first chance I got! Being a missionary is so different. I enjoyed listening to all the good music, but once we got home and got back in to our missionary environment, it was so nice. I was like oh yea this is where I am meant to be. This mission is changing me, for the better. I am so grateful for the chance I have to be here.
Sunday Brother Stude came to church! It was a miracle! It was awesome to see him partake of the sacrament. He hasn't been to church in 20 years! Last night we also saw a member who just moved in. The Bedwells, Sister Bedwell was the one home and we chatted with her. She served her mission in the south of France and she rode a Mo-ped while there! no fair! That's what we need! Sis. Geilman was talking about a friend of hers that got called to Paris, France and in the call packet, it said that she needed to have "Fashionable Clothing" :0 OH man! I would of had too much fun with that! haha
Well that was my week! I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead! I love and miss you!
