Hello All!
Miracles are happening in the College Park ward!!!!! It is awesome!
So this past week it has rained and stormed everyday! It is just insane! One day the power went out. The lightening here is unreal. Last Monday we went and played some volleyball with some of the members in the ward. It was pretty fun! We went to FHE that night and the activity we did was some theatre games. Let me tell you I was in Heaven! It was so much fun! We played one game where there was a bench and one person sits on the bench and the other comes and creates a scenario and tries to get the other person off the bench. So I walked up to the girl on the bench and asked her how she was doing and then I just started hysterically crying. I told her all about how my fish, named Clel, died. He just jumped the bowl. It was so funny! The whole room was a hootin and hollering. Then we did a skit and one of the girls in the ward and I were 'Laman and Lamuel" and we were doing it like we were Valley girls and our sister Nephi comes and tells us we need to help build the boat and we were like "Ew, Nephi you know I can't sweat I just got my hair done" It was pretty great! (for those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of Laman and Lemuel You can click herehttps://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/17?lang=eng It was also a really funny skit. I had fun doing it.
Tuesday night we had a way awesome lesson with T. He invited us over for dinner and we share a lesson on Prayer and the Holy Ghost. We read about Enos and how he had a might wrestle with God in Prayer. The spirit was really strong. We also showed him the mormon message, "The Savior wants to forgive". IT is so good. It talks about a convict and how all through his time where he was doing all these bad things he knew that God was not going to give up on him. It think it really broke down the walls that T has up. So It was so cool! I know that no matter how far we have fallen the savior wants to forgive and invites us to come unto him. It is up to us.
We had another awesome lesson with our other investigator, K. She is so great! We met at Panera and did a lesson there. We read all about when the Savior came to the Americas and him instituting the sacrament. I think she really understood it! She was all gung ho to come to church!
One of my favorite things as a missionary is the opportunity I have to testify to all those around me. In our lessons this week with our investigators, I felt the spirit so strongly when I testified of the blessings of living the gospel and the miracles that come from repenting and changing.
T and K came to church yesterday. The Bishop gave an inspired talk yesterday as well. It was based on Pres. Uchtdorf's talk, A Firmly Set Anchor. It talks about how we need to make sure that we have our Anchors set on things that will keep us steady like the Gospel and Jesus Christ. Not things that won't like video Games and TV.
Then our lesson in sunday school was on Baptism. The teacher shared a story from his mission of a guy that got baptized and how it not only blessed his life but the lives of those all around him. T definitely felt it in there! We found out that in Priesthood he turned to Elder Call one of the other missionaries in the ward and asked him how much he could lift. Elder call told him (Elder Call is a football player. Think Mr. Incredible in a form of a missionary because he looks just like him) and Then T said to him, That will do! Will you Baptize me? WWhhhhhhaaaaatttttttttt??????AAHHHHHHHH!!!! We talked with him about baptism on Friday night and he was like Eh. But Sister Stratman and I freaked out!!! We are so stoked!! He decided on his own. So more about that next week.
We talked with him about the 29th. So pray for T!
Well Like I said Miracles are happening everyday! I am so grateful for this time I have to serve the Lord!
Love you All! :D Love, Sister Forsey
P.S. I want to challenge you all to start Reading Preach My Gospel! I know it will bless your life. Write me and tell me what you are learning! This week I was reading all about How to understand the Spirit and one thing that stuck out to me was that We all have the light of Christ in us. You know that little voice telling you to do the right thing. Its your jimmany Cricket. We all have that light and when we share Gospel Truths with people it will have a familiar ring to them. Because it is not new it is just reminding them of what they learned before coming to the earth. :)
