The Book of Mormon Musical Golden Question
Hello Family and Friends!
It was a crazy week I would say. Monday we had a super busy Pday. Running around like chickens with our heads cutoff trying to get done everything we needed to get done. I went and got my hair cut, well just trimmed and the guy who did it was so nervous he was shaking. He was super sweet, but his nervousness made ME nervous. I miss you Choley! You should take a vacation to Florida ;D
Tuesday we went and saw some potential investigators, they weren't home so we went knocking and we met a Muslim man who was very interested in talking to us and telling us how much we don't know about religion. He was very nice, but he just couldn't wrap around his head what the Book of Mormon is no matter how many times we told him. We told him about how we invite others to pray and ask God. He was really surprised about that. He honestly believes that he cannot ask Heavenly Father questions. I am so grateful to know that we can ask God questions and He WILL answer us, if we listen.
One door we knocked on a kid in like High school answered and then his mom cam around the corner and said,"I work for you guys!" We said, "You do? how so?" She said, " I work for the Book of Mormon musical!" then I said " ohhhhhhhh that's not us" Now we have received some training on how to "bridge" our responses back to the actual book. So when I heard that she mentioned the Book of Mormon musical all that occupied my thoughts was: Bridge your response! Bridge your response!! So I asked the golden question.. "So have you heard about the Book of Mormon?" ha! She said "yeeesssss" I then said, "Have you read it?" And she said, "No, but I'm going to!" So we handed her one and wrote her number down and gave her our number and We are contacting her again this week to see how she likes it. She also said," That is so weird because I was just thinking how I wanted to read the book and here you are with a copy!" I love following the spirit! It's the best!
That night we had dinner with a member, and in our planning for the day we had planned to talk about the word of wisdom. which is weird for an active member who both are returned missionaries. But we decided it was what Heavenly Father wanted us to teach. So we sit down to dinner and lo and behold they are Vegans. Ha ha! I was just laughing inside about the fact that we are gonna talk about the word of wisdom and how we treat our bodies affect our spirits and they are Health Food Junkies! It was funny.
Wednesday during my personal study I had an epiphany. I was reading Luke 15 and Christ is talking about the parable of the prodigal son. My epiphany is Christ was teaching about how it will be in the spirit world. All heaven will rejoice over one repentant sinner. We need to be joyous and happy for the returning son. We must not be like the other son who was upset about him being faithful. If we are faithful then our father in heaven will give us "all that he has". That day was filled with knocking and seeing some Less Actives.
Thursday we had a zone Teaching meeting and did some contacting and we also met with a less active member, Sister Cabrera and her non- member daughter, Ana. We talked about scripture study and invited them to church.
Friday we were in most of the day due to Sister Winslow's Kidney infection flaring up again. Saturday we did much of the same stuff we do as missionaries. haha knocking on doors and visiting members. Sunday we had church meetings from 7am to 7pm It was a long day. But! Sister Cabrera and her daughter came to church! It was awesome! They both really enjoyed it. We are seeing them again tonight and we are excited to talk with them about their experience.
Well I love you all, Have a wonderful week! I know that Heavenly Father is aware of each of us and our trials. He loves us and wants us to grow from our experiences. The atonement is real and can carry you through anything.
Love, Sister Forsey
