NEW COMPANION WEEK!
Orlando- North Lake Mary Area
New Companion: Sis. Geilman (North Ogden, Utah)
Calling: Senior Companion
The Lord Prepares People
Hello everyone!
This past Monday we all went out to lunch for a sort of "goodbye" lunch for my companion, sister Ransom. She was sad to go and a little scared, but I reassured her that she will love her next area just as much as she loves this one. That night we just visited some members for Sis. Ransom to say goodbye.
Tuesday was transfers! I got to see the Bevans! always a great day! Then I met Sister Geilman, my new companion! She is from North Ogden Utah, has 2 older brothers and 2 younger brothers, who are also on missions, one in California, and the other in Germany. She has been out 7 1/2 months. And she is a go getter! A real powerhouse. Now I kind of see what people are talking about when they say I'm kind of intense. haha She also loves to sing and theater.
Later we went to the mission office and a doc. appointment for sis. Geilman. I never really thought that most of my Patriarchal Blessing would come to light on my mission. But we are together for a reason! I also got a package on Tuesday from Lexie and Maryanne! So blessed! It made my week! packages and mail to a missionary are like striking GOLD! Thank you! Thank you!!!!
Later we came home and did some shopping. we had some plans but 2 of our appointments cancelled. I had a really strong impression to go see a member. So we were on our bikes on our way to see the member, and we saw this woman standing in her drive way. We stopped to talk with her and she was like, "can you come back another day?" We said, "ohhh yeah we can" (thinking this is just a way to get rid of us). We started talking to her about the Book of Mormon and how it brings people closer to God and she suddenly said, "You guys wanna come inside?" We said "yes we do!" We taught her the Restoration lesson and she had a ton of prepared questions! She then told us that while she was in the driveway, she was just thinking and praying that she wanted to be closer to God, but she didn't know how. Then she looked up and we were right there. Her name is Ty. She is so sweet! And prepared!! So prepared! I am just so excited for her! The Lord does work in miracles.
Later that night Sister Geilman and I were talking about music and she has a few Daniel Beck CD's and I asked her if she is familiar with "Liken the Scriptures" and she said yea... and I said have you seen David and Goliath? She was like yea with both Daniel Beck and Spencer Forsey. Then I said yea! He's my Brother. Her eyes lit up! and she started freaking out! ha ha She said," Oh my gosh I didn't even make the connection! I love him! I am in love with his voice! Oh my gosh, I can't believe he is your brother!!! He is amazing!" I just said "yes I know he IS amazing!!! I love him too! She was so stoked it was pretty funny! She said that she has been begging her mom in every letter to send her the CD of David and Goliath. hahaha Spencer is just so famous out here!
Wednesday we had District Meeting and we now have 3 sets of sisters in our District! Woo hoo Girls rule! After DM we had a meeting with Ty. We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she said she wants to be baptized! Woo hoo! It was an awesome lesson! the Spirit was so strong! The rest of the day we did missionary things haha saw some members as well. IT was a good day.
Thursday we went visiting teaching with a member, Sister Willis. She was hesitant to go to one of her sisters, because the past Visiting Teachers said that the lady slammed the door in their face. Well, we told her "We'll knock on the door! we get doors slammed in our faces all the time, no big deal!" haha So we went up and Sister Walker was the sister (a Less active) and she answered the door and was SO friendly and nice and was like come in, come in! We sat and chatted with her. It was a nice lesson.
Then later that day we saw an Inactive who is married to a man who is kind of against religion. When they got married, he said," me or religion" and she chose him. :( Sad day. But she was so sweet! We called her an "undercover Mormon" haha Hopefully the Lord will soften her hubby's heart and then we can baptize him! Woo!
Friday we had weekly planning and oh man was I exhausted! All the stress from last transfer caught up with me and I needed to rest big time! So that day we went and mowed a lawn for someone and saw the Welch family and some others. Then we came home early to go to bed! It was much needed! So nice!
Saturday we did more of the same, saw some Less Actives, and Active members, did some knocking. Sunday during sacrament meeting The Elder's have some investigator's -Maryanne and David, who are extremely talented vocally. So the ward asked them to sing a song. They sang. "How great thou art" It was amazing! The spirit was so strong! Almost everyone was crying! It was a really good Sunday!
Well, It has been one heck of a week! I am excited to see what this week brings! I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Love, Sister Forsey BELOW::: I had a CRAZY HAIR day! ha ha
