We did Satan's dishes
Hello all!
Last Monday we had District PDay and we all got together and went to Steak and Shake then we went to the church for some games. It was a lot of fun. We also found out that Sister Geilman would be leaving on Wednesday. And that Sister Winslow will be coming up to Lake Mary with me.
Tuesday we had interviews with President Berry. He said he really appreciated me and appreciated the fact that I have been really resilient with the past couple transfers. I love President and Sister Berry they are so wonderful! Then we went and saw some members that Sis. Geilman wanted to say goodbye to. Wednesday we had District Meeting and it was of course really good. Then we had a lesson with one of our gators, ___. We read Alma 32 and talked about faith. I am just not so sure she is really interested. We may need to drop her. Only time will tell. Then we headed down to Orlando to drop off Sis. Geilman and pick up Sis. Winslow!
Sis. Winslow is from Mesa, Arizona and had 3 younger brothers and an older sister. We have had a lot of the same companions. She calls herself the "Balm of Gilead" Because she always gets the struggling companions haha She gave me the nick name too because I too have had the some of the same struggling companions. haha We are kind of the same person. It's been so fun!The Mission President thought that we both needed a little reprieve! That night we had a lesson with the ____ family. It went really well, they are just the sweetest people. They also quit smoking! woo hoo!
Thursday we went knocking and knocked on a Seventh day Adventist door. Her name was Ladysbell and she was very nice. She invited us in to sit down and talk. She met with missionaries a long time ago and even has a copy of the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants. We had a great convo with her and will be seeing her this next week. Then we went and saw some Less actives with Sis. Willis. She is so much fun. I love it when members come out with us. We also stopped by another members house that night, the ____, they are going through some tough financial struggles right now so they said our timing was perfect! it was just what they needed, a spiritual boost!
Friday we went and visited some Less Actives. And also, checked on some referrals. We had dinner with the Bishop as well. He is so hard working and his poor family is so tired. It makes me feel for all the Bishops out there.
Saturday we did some service with the Roe family and then helped them put out their Halloween stuff. It was a lot of fun! Then we had a prompting to go and see a less active that we haven't been able to catch. So we went and tried and no answer, so we talked to his neighbor outside, had a lesson with her, asked if she knew anyone who could use a prayer and she said yes! my neighbor, Janet. So we went next door and talked with Janet who invited us in and we shared a message on the Plan of Salvation (her husband died a few months ago) and then we asked if she knew anyone who could use a prayer and she said, Yes! my next door neighbor! He never comes out but you might be able to talk with him. So we went next door. He answered and we said a prayer with him and then by the time we were done there the Less Active member was home and standing outside. The Lord's timing is perfect! He really is aware of each and every one of his children and if we listen and heed the promptings we can help others see that.
That night we also had a Ward Missionary conference. It was really neat! I think it really pumped up the ward missionaries and auxiliaries! Sunday was a day! haha We started it off by going to the Huge non-denominational church here called Northland. It was awesome! It really was like a concert. And the Pastor was wonderful. I received a lot of personal revelation on how I could be a better teacher. Like when teaching the restoration. We always say that every church has bits and pieces of truth but I am not sure I really believed it. But when I was in Northland, I was able to see that really what they are preaching is truth. They are just missing the fullness of it. I am so very grateful that I have the fullness of the truth in my life.
Then we attended our services and holy cow miracles happened! We had 8 Less Actives there and 5 of them just decided to show up! It was so cool! After church we had dinner with the Gonzalez family. They are so sweet. Then we went knocking.
The first house we knocked on this guy answered the door and he smelled like Beer. We asked him if we could say a prayer with him and he said sure. We asked him his name and he said, It's Satan. So we asked him, is there another name you go by? He said yea, Beealzebub. and then we went off on a kick that we were solicitors and no matter how many times we told him we weren't, he just didn't believe us. Sis. Winslow said that we were just there seeing if we could serve people by doing their dishes or washing their floors whatever they needed. So then he pipes in and says you can do my dishes! We asked if there was a female in the house (Iwas praying he would say no so we wouldn't have to go in) and he said, yes my wife. We looked in and saw her right there So Sis. Winslow just walks right in. As soon as I followed her there was just this wall and the spirit stayed at the door. It was the worst feeling ever. I hurried to the sink and just did the dishes as fast as I could. At first he wasn't in the room, but then he came in and started asking us questions. So we started teaching him the restoration and told him how we invite people to pray about the Book of Mormon and he kept saying he wants proof. Well we showed him the Book of Mormon and told him to read it and I think it kind of shook him up a bit. We finished his dishes and he said you could wash my car next and Sis. Winslow was like ok! We asked him his name again and he would only tell us Satan. So Sis. Winslow said if you aren't going to tell us your name, we are not going to come back. And he just looked at us and we walked out.
It really shook us both up. We went directly to the car said a prayer and turned on Motab. Then we went to the Moghimi's house to feel the spirit and Bro. Moghimi can make us laugh. So we were able to laugh about it later, Basically... We did Satan's Dishes. Haha Well that was my week! Thank you all for you continuing support!
Love You!
