Hello all!
What a Week what a week we have had! I'll just go through the days because too much has happened to not do it that way.
Well Last Monday we had some fun and went to the Citrus Showcase. Its a Citrus Stand with U-Pick oranges. It was fun. Then we had dinner at a members house and met with some Less actives.
Tuesday we had a lesson with one of our investigators, R. He is so sweet and the spirit was so strong when we taught him. We taught the Restoration and really focused on why there was a need for a restoration. We had a sweet sister from the ward come with us. Then that day we were able to have a few on the spot lessons and to see some Active and less active members.
Wednesday we saw a sister who we found and didn't know she was a member! Her name is H. She is the sweetest, she has a lot of questions so we are doing our best to help answer them. That night we had our scripture study class and I felt very strongly impressed that we should focus on the Atonement and what Christ did for us all. We went through the last day of Christ's live, his Crucifixion, and Resurrection. We would read the account in the Gospels and then we would watch the Bible videos that went with what we just read. Wow. The spirit was so very strong in that meeting. When talking about our Savior and what he has done for us, the spirit can't help but to be there strongly. Those videos are so well done as well. They are my favorite. If you haven't seen them I would encourage you to check them out. They can be found at biblevideos.lds.org or on Gospel Library. Check them out and let me know what you think.
Thursday We had hit alot of our goals for the week so we focused on active lessons. We helped some sisters with their online missionary work. We had a stake meeting that night and Sister Dewberry took us out to dinner before. She is so much fun we were just laughing the entire time.
Friday we went and did some service for Habitat for Humanity. We helped to finish up the house that we already started on. Then we had weekly planning and went and saw a less active and her family. After that lesson we went tracting and everything was going fine until one house we knocked on this guy swung opened the door and very angrily said, "I'm gonna tell you something...I got kids asleep. I can't believe you are doing this this late. There is no soliciting here, get off my property before I call the cops and get out of this neighborhood" I almost peed my pants.
It wasn't a sketchy neighborhood or anything but it did frighten me. At that point I was like I'm done for the day! I want to go home have a good cry, eat ice cream and paint my nails. But sister Ackley pushed us to keep going. We went to a different neighborhood and knocked on this one door where a mom and her three daughters all came out so we could say a prayer with them. They were so sweet. We also got to share the "Because of Him" video with them and before the video was half way through the mom was just crying. The spirit had touched her heart. We testified of the Savior and all that he has done for us. We asked if we could come back again and share more and she said yes! So we will see her again this week. A tender mercy of the Lord for sure!
When life knocks you down and you just want to crawl into bed and not care, keep going because you never know what blessings the Lord has in store for you!
Saturday we went to an Easter Party which was fun and had a lesson with a potential and Sunday was just awesome! We visited 2 of our sisters who are in a re-hab center and had dinner at the Edward's house. They had some non-member family and friends there. We watched Finding Faith in Christ and had a Gospel Discussion.
It was a really good Easter Week! I am so grateful for my Savior and all that he has done for me. I know that he lives and it is because of him that we can repent and become better each and everyday.
I love you all! Stay safe this week!
Love, Sister Forsey
