1st Area: Ellsworth (but living in Melbourne on the church's Florida Ranch)
Training Companion: Sis. Peck
Hello everyone!
So this week has been kind of crazy which can be expected in the life of a missionary. We got to the mission home on Monday all safe and sound. Tuesday morning we woke up, headed to a chapel where we had a new missionary meeting and then we met our Trainers/New companions.
My new companion's name is Sister Peck she is from Syracuse, Utah. She is the youngest of 7 kids. She is great. The Lord knows how bad I wanted to go to Paris France and to be in the city so of course he sends me right on down to the Church's Ranch! We are talking super southern and super country.
Our area is called the Ellsworth Area and the cities we serve in are called Holopaw, and some of St. Cloud. We live about 20 min. out of our area in Melbourne. The ward on the ranch just recently got their own set of missionaries and Sister Peck and I are the 2nd. (Sister Peck and her companion before me opened the area).
The area is really quite cool and unique. Not gonna lie its been a little hard getting adjusted. Just being homesick and having a new companion (who by the way reminds me so much of kimmi its not even funny). But I just kept telling myself "make it till Sunday and it will all be better" and it's true! Things are so much better already!
Tuesday we had dinner with the Vaugn family. They are less active. We mostly work with the ward members to try and get them involved with missionary work and less actives. We also currently have and are teaching 7 investigators. So we are kept busy. The Ward mission leader and his family are awesome! We are fed dinner 7 nights a week. So we only have to worry about breakfast and lunch. Wednesday - Saturday was much of the same just meeting and teaching.
Sunday was Easter! We went to church and had some awesome lessons and talks. Mom- Thank you so much for the Easter package. I waited until Satuday night to open it and during personal study I opened all the eggs and read the scriptures in them. I love it all Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sister Peck gave me a little Easter package which was so nice! I gave her some cadburry eggs (she was looking for them at the store and they didn't have any). We then had a lesson with one of our investigators and then we had lunch with the Parry Family (ward mission leader family) and we also had to do companionship study and training so we did that, then it was time for dinner.
The Parry's had us for dinner that night as well. Sister Parry gave us each a little Easter basket. Needless to say we are being well taken care of!
Oh! I got my bike and it is beautiful! We picked it up, took it back to the apartment, and put it in the closet. haha! We have a car the entire time because our area is so spread out. So it will be a little bit before I get to actually use it. Thank you dad for everything though!
I am so enjoying all of your emails! I have been told we can get and email family and friends. So feel free to email me everyone. .I think that rule has recently changed.
I am so jealous Aunt Kris, Maddie, Kimmi, and Mom all got to go to Arizona! But how fun! We will have to do a trip like that when I get back!
Mom- if you could send me some light weight PJ's that would be wonderful. We aren't really allowed to go shopping like that.
Also, could you ask Spence to make a couple of awesome church CD's in the package for the car? I would really appreciate that.
My shoes and clothes all work. I feel like I am in the South with the people here. They all have the accent and all! I love it!
Oh! and could you ask uncle Tom what the drink was that helped him stop smoking??
Give all the neices a big hug and a kiss for me! I am so blessed to have such amazing family and friends! I love you all and miss you like crazy but hey! we have enternity together, what's 18 months?
Love you! The Church is true, The book is Blue, and it's just for you!
- Sister Forsey
P.S. Sorry for the short email! I feel like I have no time!
P.S.S. Mom did you do my taxes? Also I need to pay tithing on them. If you could do that for me I would be eternaly grateful! I love you!
