Turn that FROWN upside down and SMILE that frown away!
Hello all!
Well this week was a rough one, not gonna lie. I was really sick most of the week and when I was finally feeling better Sister Williams had a migraine so it has been a bummer week.
We went and saw some Less Actives. One sister is elderly and is just the sweetest lady ever. She is a talker though! haha Umm not so good if you have a migraine (check 1st paragraph) haha
We had scripture study this past week and the Elders taught on the Atonement and talked about Alma the younger and his experience going from a person who was trying to destroy the church and the people in it and then going to one of the most amazing missionaries. It is a great story.
This week was full of knocking on doors. We met some rude people, we met some nice people, and we met some drunk people! Hey quite a good balance if you ask me! Saturday we had a day full of appointments which all fell through. Welcome to the life of a missionary! haha
At first I was really frustrated and getting discouraged. But then I thought. Hey, I trust the Lord and there are people who we need to meet today. Everything happens for a reason! So I turned my frown upside down and we got to work. We knocked, and knocked, and knocked, and knocked and nothing. Well! Hey I was able to go to bed with a smile on my face knowing I did all I could.
One morning in my studies I came across Acts Chapter 5 This is when Peter and John were getting beaten and put in jail for preaching of Christ. In Verses 41 and 42 it reads. "And they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ" It really was the perfect time for me to see this.
When people are rude to us I just smile and am so grateful for the opportunity to be counted worthy to represent Jesus Christ. What a divine calling this is to be his missionary and to carry such glad tidings and Good News!
Sunday we had fast and testimony meeting and one of the sisters in our ward mentioned a talk entitled "Beware of Pride" by Ezra Taft Benson in the April 1989 General Conference.CLICK HERE TO READ IT It is such a good talk. That is one thing I am wanting to work on. Choosing to be humble and hopefully not having to be compelled to be humble.
I am so grateful for the many tender mercies of the Lord after a hard week we were able to spend some time with some wonderful members and get to know them better. To Laugh with them and share our testimonies. We are hoping and praying for a better week this week. I know that after the trials come the blessings. I love you all! I pray for everyone always!
