Hey Ya'll!
I can't believe I'm down to one more week as a missionary! I'm gonna be sure to do my best and to just have fun and love being a missionary. This past week has been really really fun.
Monday night a member invited us over for dinner with her nonmember parents. We were able to get to know them and to share then the message of the restoration. It was cool to see our member Sis. Hall bear her testimony to her parents about the restored gospel. Member missionary work is awesome!
Tuesday morning were able to go over to the YMCA and to do some service for them. We weeded out the children's playground and also spread out the mulch in a few areas. It was very hot and we are very sweaty but they were very grateful for our help. They even gave us a free T-shirt. score! We had a relief society meeting that
night all about financial help like budgeting and preparing for
retirement. It was very good and I listened very intently because I
know how much help I need in that area. Haha! Wednesday morning I woke
up with terrible back Pain. I think I must've pulled a muscle doing
all the hard labor from Tuesday morning. We had District meeting and I
got a priesthood blessing. I sought the blessing for physical health
but also spiritual strength to get through these next two weeks to
know that I am doing and have done all that but my Heavenly Father has
asked me to do here. I was comforted and the blessing definitely
helped my back. That night we went to a dinner at a members house who
asked me what my father's name was. I told him Phil and he said well I
served with a Paul Forsey in my mission. So he was companions with
uncle Paul. He showed me a picture of him and uncle Paul on their
missions. It was pretty funny to see! His name is Bro. Portz haha I
don't know his first name... But it was pretty cool. We had a phone
lesson with K and taught her about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is
still in the facility and will most likely be in there for another
week. We are just helping her to know that the longer she is in there
the more her doctors can make sure the medication is the best thing
for her. She was able to come to church on Sunday and it was so great!
She came for Sacrament and the talks were just for her. It was cool!
We found out more of her concerns this past week and so we feel that
she will need more time before she is baptized. But she is still
reading and praying. So she is doing good. Please still keep her in
your prayers. She was also able to get a blessing from the bishop and
the Stake President was also there. We hope and pray that the Bishop
was able to feel how special of a spirit K is. It was a beautiful
blessing. It talked about peace and clarity of mind. It also talked
about healing. Saturday night we helped put with a wedding and it was
just like helping mom and Becks! It was a lot of fun! The couple that
got married one is a member and one is not. We are building a
relationship with the husband so he can open up. But it was fun! On
Sunday before K left Sister Damato teased her about her not telling us
that she loves us and how we mow she is just dieing to tell us. We
talk to K on the phone everyday and we also tell her, We love you! So
last night when we talked with her we said it and then She said I love
you too. Sister Damato and I screamed! Haha we were excited! Haha It
has brought peace to me to know that I have done all that I was sent
here to do. I know that K will continue to progress . Heavenly Father
is so aware of her and she is in his hands. I got to call some members
this week to say goodbye. I called Bro. Stude and he went to the
Temple! I helped him get active again. He has a calling as family
history consultant and he loves it! I was so excited to hear that he
went back to the Temple what a special place it is. Departing
missionaries get to go this week so I am super excited!
Well I will be working hard and having fun this week! I hope you will
be too. I love you all! Until next week, Sister Forsey
