Hello Family and Friends!
This week went by pretty fast, then again we had the car so it seems that those weeks always go by faster than Bike Weeks.
Monday was pretty much uneventful. But Tuesday we had Zone Conference! Elder Hamula of the seventy was there along with his wife. They have 3 kids out on missions right now. How cool is that? It was a very good conference. It was a different set up from previous zone conferences but it was fine. Sister Berry Spoke about not gossiping and how Precious and unique we are. She is so funny. I love sister Berry! Then President got up and spoke about "Creepage". His word for us missionaries letting things creep into us not being Obedient. So he focused on that and really pushing through and enduring through things. Sister Hamula spoke about Prayer And Preach my Gospel. Oh boy does she love Preach My Gospel! She was so funny! And down to earth. I love her! We talked about the different stories of prayer and different ways to pray both from scriptures and PMG. It was really good. Then Elder Hamula spoke about why Joseph Smith had the sacred
Grove experience. It was because he asked. He took that action and Prayed to Heavenly Father. He also received an answer because he had that true intent. Meaning he was willing to act upon the answer he would receive. He talked about how our Gators need that true intent. They need to be willing to change. But we can inspire that desire. We need to follow the spirit and ask inspired questions.
We had a question and answer session and during it Elder Hamula stopped and said, " I am receiving a call from one of the twelve and I need to take this, I will be right back" hahhah ohhh no big deal just, Getting calls from the Apostles. It was pretty funny. So In the question and answer section an elder asked how can we as missionaries help people have that lasting conversion? Elder Hamula wanted us to ask questions in prayer and to him on what we can do. He said we need to ask God what actions we can take, just like Joseph. We need to be ready to act. So in response to that question he said we need to Discern people, discern their thoughts and their hearts, then Ask inspired questions that will not only give you revelation but will also give your Gators and those you teach revelation. Then we need to testify and invite them to act.
Man, I love how revelation works. I mean I went into the conference wondering what I can do for our investigators individually and Elder Hamula brought the spirit so strongly the spirit was able to tell me what our Gators needed. So it was a great
conference. My favorite part of when General Authorities come is when they bear their testimonies. The spirit is so strong! It is so cool to be in the room with them.
That night we met with a member who never would come to Sacrament. We invited her to read and study about the
sacrament and the atonement through out the week. She did and the spirit told her she needed to take the sacrament if she wanted to renew/keep her covenants. We didn't have to tell her a thing! It was great!
Thursday we were going to meet with K and we felt strongly we needed to invite her to be baptized. So we fasted all day to be able to have the spiritual power we needed and for her to feel that power. Half way through the day she texted us and cancelled because of her health issues she needed to go back into the Hospital. We were devastated! She said she would be there for about 2 weeks. So we are just continually Praying for her.
Forgot to mention something cool that happend.... So we were so sad about K But we found out that she could have visitors and that we could call her. So we called her yesterday and talked with her and before we got off the phone we invited her to read D&C 121 and she said; " I know where you are going with this, verses 7-9?" She just knew them from heart! I told her those were my favorite but the whole chapter is good. It was great! She just needs to recognize the spirit. She said that she brought her Scriptures and Hymnal ( her favorite) with her to the hospital. We are so excited we get to go and visit her
on Wednesday. Sister Damato and I just love her so much and we know it is because Heavenly Father and Christ love her so much! I am so grateful to be his representative and get to feel his love for others. I think it is one of the things I will miss most.
Well that is basically it for the week. Pray for our safety this week as we are on Bikes, we also heard that there might be a hurricane coming....I'll be on the look out for flying houses I heard they like to land on people. ;D
Love you all!
