Hello Family and Friends!
This week has been full of teaching! Which is always good! We had interviews with President on Tuesday. It's always great to sit down with P Berry and to get to know him better but also to get some advice on our area.
We taught a girl that the sisters from the University Park Ward wanted to "pass of" to us. Her name is M. she has been talking the missionary lessons for about a year with her family. She is really sweet. We read Moroni 10:3-5 and talked about the spirit and how we recognize our answer if the Book or Mormon is true. It was a really good lesson. She said she would read and pray.
Wednesday we taught T and he is just doing awesome! He is fitting right in with the ward and he is doing really good at getting involved. We talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and focused on Enduring to the End. We know that it is so important to keep going even after you are baptized. Because if you don't then all that hard work will be wasted! We also talked about keeping busy because when we are idle Satan knows it and that is when he tempts us and more times than not "gets us". So we need to stay busy busy busy!
We also taught R that night. We read the Book of Mormon with him and it was so good! He really enjoyed it and wants to read more! With the mission reading the Book of Mormon in 100 days I can just see how important it is to read the Book of Mormon with our investigators so they can get right in it and understand it.
Thursday we taught M again. We just got to know her a bit more and addressed some concerns of hers. We showed her the mormon message "Origin" It is really good. We talked about how we need to really ponder and think about the things we are praying about. We re-committed her to read and pray because she didn't.
Friday we taught our other investigator C. We read with him too. It was such a good lesson! We were reading in 1 nephi 1 and 2 and he asked if the verse "And my Father dwelt in a tent" had any significance. So we talked about how Lehi was a prophet of God and here he is, he just left his home, his fine and precious things, he left his job and everything comfortable in his life, and he is now dwelling in a tent because God told him to. The spirit spoke to C! He said that we need to put away the things of the world and really sacrifice time and some things in order to follow God. And to do what he asks of us. We were like yea!! So he was willing to really sacrifice some things and to read and pray. We are so excited to see what happens with C!
One thing that happened this week that was really funny is we asked the STL's if they could pick up our bikes from the Church and bring them to our house. Well we were walking back from an appointment and sister Stratman said: Do you think they pranked us? And I said:" Oh absolutely they did" and she was like;"I don't think we have anything that they could prank us with." So we walked inside and They put our kitchen table in the living room with my bed ontop and put my sister teddy holding a lighter and a candle. It was so funny. We just texted them and said; "Well Done, Well done. Let the games begin! May the odds be ever in your favor." haha we are gonna get them back this week.
Saturday we had a really good lesson with a recent convert, N. He is so awesome! He is going through some trails right now. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and just talked about how trails are apart of this life but with the Gospel of Jesus Christ we can get through them and find joy in the journey.
So on Sunday a guy in the ward came up to me and told me that Sister Stratman and I were the coolest sister they have had in a long time. And I was like" yeah??" And he said "yeah! you see the other sisters are really really pretty so all the boys want to date them so they avoid them, but you two are cool." I didn't know whether to be offended or offended haha I just awkwardly laughed. It was a sandwhich, a compliment, then an insult, then another compliment. Haha Sister Stratman and I just laughed about it Anyway.
It sounds like it was a great week! As always! I hope you all have a fabulous day and talk to you next week!
Love, Sister Forsey
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA FORSEY!! LOVE YOUUU! :D
