WEEK OF SURPRISES
Hello Everyone!
What a wonderful conference we had this past weekend wasn't it? The thing that stuck out to me most was how we all need to be strengthening our testimonies and deepening our foundation in Christ. What a blessing to have a Prophet of the Lord on the Earth today. As it is said in Amos 3:7 "Surely, the Lord God would do nothing except reveal his secrets to his Servants, the Prophets" Heed their messages, they know Heavenly Father's Secrets. How cool is that???
Well this past week was filled with surprises and more surprises! haha Monday we didn't have much going on, Tuesday we had a lesson with Lee and it went really well. We watched the restoration video and he kept saying, "I am just like Joseph Smith" He said he wants to get a burning in his bosom to know if baptism is right. So he said he would pray. We also saw Bill and Colette that night. They are the sweetest people and we will be re-teaching the missionary lessons to them. I am excited to see the changes that will be happening :D
Wednesday we had a lesson with a referral, named Heather. She has been sick and we just hoped and prayed that her not feeling good wouldn't keep the spirit away. But I think it was a really good lesson. Then we went down to Orlando for a Dr. Appt for Sis. Geilman. After much prayer and fasting she has decided the best thing for her would be to go home and work on getting feeling better. I am so sad to be loosing her, but I am happy for her to have the opportunity to feel better and do what the Lord has asked her. I just keep telling her that the Lord is in it. If she feels at Peace, then that is the thing for her to do. So she will be leaving sometime this week, we're not sure when yet.
That night we went on a Temple Tour with Lee! He said he prayed about it and felt really, really, happy and peaceful and wants to get baptized! So we were like awesome! We'll still planning on the 12th!
Thursday we had Zone Training Meeting and there they showed us a video on the hastening the work of salvation website titled, "My Priesthood Duty". I would highly recommend watching it, it is fantastic! so Inspiring! After ZTM we had a lesson with Bro. Stude. We didn't bring another woman with us so we had to sit outside. So he opened his garage and his car was in there and he had some chairs hanging on some hooks from the ceiling of the garage. This man is 75 years old and he just hops right on the hood of his car and pulls these chairs down. Sister Geilman and I were like holy cow! haha It was awesome! We had a great lesson with him and he is just making some awesome progress!
Friday we had a lesson with another one of our gators named, Lisa. She is also sick. But we were able to have a wonderful lesson on the Plan of Salvation.
Saturday we watched Conference! I love conference! It was so wonderful! I LOVED Pres. Uchtdorf's talk! I just want to carry that talk around and have everyone read it! haha.
Between Sessions the Roe family came and got us and took us out to lunch! Which was so nice! Sister Roe told me that you guys were gonna get Yvonne on Sunday. I said "That's awesome! She can borrow my family and I can borrow hers!" Love the Roe's! The second session on Saturday was also very good. Just gotta love that Elder Holland!
That night we saw a non member, Kristen. She is married to a Less Active. She is so awesome! She said she had a rough day but she made us dinner and we just chatted and talked about the Book of Mormon and committed her to read it everyday. She said she would! Then when we got home she texted us and said "Thanks for making my burdens light Mosiah 18:8" :0 She is so awesome!
Sunday we went to the church a little early and watched Music and the Spoken Word and then conference. I really love David M. McConkie's talk on being a better Teacher. It was something I definitely needed to hear. I also LOVED President Monson's talk. During the sessions we were supposed to have a lesson with Lee but he was a no show. So he called around because he doesn't have a phone but some of the members have been emailing him. We found out that he left to Miami. So I guess he won't be getting baptized this weekend :( But while we were talking with the other sisters there at the church the Bishop came and asked Sis. Geilman and me to follow him. We walked into his office and there was a man from our ward and his fiance who is not a member and they were getting married right then and there! We were the witnesses! It was so awesome! I guess it was kind of a spur of the moment thing.
The Second session of conference was also great! AND they sang one of my favorite Hymns to close, "Abide with me Tis' Eventide" I LOVED it! then we went to the Bishop's house for dinner. It was a wonderful week. I am looking forward to a miracle week filled here! Love you all!
Love, Sister Forsey
